Mel Cordier is a strategic public relations and brand communications leader based in the Greater New Orleans area. As the founder and Public Relations Specialist at MiPR, Cordier specializes in institutional messaging, media relations, and corporate identity development.

Currently serving as the Director of Communications and Public Relations at St. Augustine High School, Cordier directs high-impact campaigns, executive messaging, and community outreach. With an educational background in Public Relations from Tulane University and leadership training through Loyola University New Orleans, Cordier brings a sharp, localized focus to narrative building, brand audits, and multi-channel communications.

Cordier has also earned classical music & theatrical, and mass media certifications from both Harvard’s Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and the Kennedy School Executive Education.

Rooted in the rich cultural ecosystem of New Orleans, Mel Cordier is a former percussionist, serving as an assistant to four high school music programs for 18 years, ultimately becoming Associate Director of Bands for the St. Augustine Marching 100.

In 2019, Cordier co-founded the Dream Administration, an executive production and music management company, combining his marketing expertise with an appreciation for Music Business.

Integrating entertainment industry experience and content development, Cordier leverages strategic PR to elevate artists, cultural events, and entertainment initiatives. Cordier’s work seamlessly bridges performance art discipline with modern press strategies, talent positioning, and media relations.
