Juan Yusuf is a New Orleans, La. native and graduate of Morehouse College and Tulane Law School. A musician since childhood, Juan began his career alongside his childhood friend and notable New Orleans artist, Pell, supporting Pell’s management team and accompanying him on several tour runs. While in law school, Juan officially decided to pursue a career in music and soon after graduation began working at Ultra Music in New York. While at Ultra, he worked in both A&R and Business & Legal Affairs, most notably on Pell’s 2017 major label debut, “girasoul.” Following his departure from the company, Juan took a position as a Manager and A&R at Nonstop Mgmt, a boutique management firm founded by Adrian Nunez. Nonstop managed its own stable of multi-platinum producers in conjunction with EQT Recordings, including Maaly Raw, Smoko Ono, and Richir Souf. Juan expanded that roster with artists and producers of his own, including Malik Ninety Five, Neno Calvin, Treety, Samyra, and Alia Kadir. In 2020, Juan joined Pell and Nathaniel “Suave” Cameron to co-found glbl wrmng, a music collective of over 50 artists, producers, and executives from the New Orleans metro area. Around the same time, Juan also partnered with Donald Markowitz and Jason Villemarette to found Mid City Sound, a multimedia group specializing in record production, publishing, and sync. MCS has produced music and commercials for several major companies, law firms, and politicians in the area. Juan currently serves as General Counsel for both glbl wrmng and Mid City Sound. Aside from his career, Juan enjoys concerts, boxing, and live sporting events.
