Scott Borne has always wanted to be surrounded by music. As a kid growing up in Metairie, he was always attracted to the music that was coming from New Orleans. After a stint out of town, he returned back to New Orleans and immersed himself in the local music scene. He started by becoming a DJ at WWOZ (where he is still on air) and eventually became the Music Director at the station for 12 years. In 2012 Scott started a record label, Sinking City Records with his business partner Brice White. The label was an outlet for his love of both local music and vinyl records. The love of records continued to grow and 3 years ago Scott became an owner of the New Orleans Record Press where he gets to manufacture vinyl records for both local and national artists. While not always easy, pressing records allows Scott to continue to be an ally to musicians and labels alike.
