Rob Schwartz is a music industry vet who spent his life in the music industry covering distribution, music television, radio, music festivals, and conferences. Rob is also the Governor for the Recording Academy (Grammy’s) for the Philadelphia Chapter as well as a voting member for 13 years.
He is the Co-Founder and Chief Music Officer for ACX1 Studios in Atlantic City, NJ. ACX1 Studios was a 4-story 550,000 sq. foot mall (Caesar’s Pier/Ocean One Mall) which Rob and his team converted into a humongous movie production lot, large music incubator, and live event space. ACX1 Studios has 8 different venues with the largest having a capacity of up 3,000 people.
Rob is the Co-Owner and Music Director of Splash 98.5 FM (www.splash985fm.com), a Media-Based Top 40 station and the first radio station on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. He also hosts his own show called “The WHO?MAG Radio Show w/ Rob Schwartz” Thursdays at 7pm EST.
Rob is also the owner/founder of ‘Distro Fest’ music festival and conference in Atlantic City, NJ (www.distrofest.com). Distro Fest is entering their 4th year (11/7-11/9) and had some of the top music industry speakers as well as many top tier performers. He is also the co-founder of ‘PLAY Music Conference’ in Philadelphia. Rob has produced many music events with over 200 performers and over 125 major industry speakers.
Rob owns WHO?MAG Distribution, a music distribution company through The Orchard which has over 350 sub-labels and 1,000 artists including a Grammy Winning album. He also owns 3 music TV networks (WHO?MAG Multimedia, iFame TV, and Video Vision).
Rob is also a multiple award-winning film director, producer, and music supervisor. He has worked on 23 different movies and TV show as a music supervisor and other roles. Rob won the Pocono Film Festival for “Best Documentary” with his “WHO?MAG Hip Hop Document”. He has also produced and directed almost 200 30-minute music TV shows between WHO?MAG TV, DMTV, Video Vision, and Dancin’ On Air (reboot on FUSE TV) which have over 3,000 combined interviews ranging from hip hop, EDM, pop, and music execs.
As a music industry advocate, Rob has also spoken all over the world including Seoul (South Korea), Kent (UK), Rome (Italy), Toronto (Canada), Barcelona (Spain), Sofia (Bulgaria), SXSW, Tulsa Music Awards, many Universities, music conferences, film festivals, and all over the US.
Rob has been a mentor for Grammy U for 5 years. He is also a member of the Guild of Music Supervisors and advisor for Rowan College (RCBC) and Atlantic City Cape College.
