NOLA MusiCon Thursday Night Presented by sonaBlast! Records
After an inspiring day of informative sessions it's time to kick back with some amazing music at Voodoo Garden at the House of Blues. The Daddy Sisters kick off the night with a glam rock explosion. The original hybrid: business in the front, party in the back, DJ El Camino, closes out the night with a musical mullet. Terrible mileage, but wonderful smileage.
The Daddy Sisters
Hailing from Bowling Green, KY, The Daddy Sisters are a two-piece glam rock explosion. Chick Falcon slays with huge guitar presence and cheeky lyrics with femme prowess while sexy-cool Jack Quinn thunders away at the kit. Falling somewhere between Kiss and The Stooges, a Daddy Sisters show delivers sweat-soaked hooks wrapped in a leather jacket and fishnets.
The idea for the Daddy Sisters started in 2019 and served as an outlet for Chick to explore gender identity and expression. The name of the band is a reference to bending gender norms and rejecting the binary. Chick’s formal transition began in 2020, so the band offered a protective opportunity to present femme. Without The Daddy Sisters, she may not have realized the support and joy she would later experience through transition and self-becoming.
Since its conception, the band went through multiple revisions, including multiple human drummers as well as a drum machine. After a controversial, yet steamy makeout sesh in the audience of a Daddy Sisters show left Chick without a drummer, Jack Quinn joined as an official and completing member in 2021. The official duo evolved the aesthetic and sound to its current edgy glam rock presentation.
Chick’s former musical projects include The Black Shades (guitar, vocals, songwriting), the Pretty Okays (guitar, vocals, songwriting), and Sword of Damocles, a Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute band.
