Lee Dannay is the VP of A&R for Thirty Tigers, an independent label services company that offers marketing, distribution, and creative services to a prestigious roster of independent artists. Some of the artists Lee works with include Corinne Bailey Rae, Amos Lee, Bruce Hornsby, Béla Fleck and The Hold Steady, and she provides A&R support for the company’s developing artist roster as well. A 30+ year A&R and music publishing veteran, Lee has held senior executive positions at Columbia and Epic Records and Warner/Chappell Music and has been instrumental in the careers of artists and songwriters including John Mayer, Brandi Carlile, Moby, Glen Hansard, Iron & Wine, Train, Gary Louris/The Jayhawks, Gavin DeGraw, Claude Kelly and Priscilla Renea (Muni Long), as well as having worked on numerous soundtracks, benefit albums and catalog compilations. She serves on the board as a governor and voting member of the NY chapter of the Recording Academy where she is co-chair of the Education Committee and is on the board of the Cornell Media Guild and on the advisory board of Music Will. An active member of numerous industry organizations supporting professional development and advocacy, Lee volunteers as a guide for Musicians on Call, is a mentor for She Is the Music and Grammy U. She holds a BA in English Literature from Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences and is an adjunct professor at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute for Recorded Music, teaching music publishing and music licensing.
