His third album, “Canciones de Amor y Protesta” is Santero’s musical memoir and manifesto bringing together all his vast musical influences, Indigenous Mayan heritage, Afro-Cuban spirituality and revolutionary politics in one ecstatically danceable release. Streaming now on all platforms. 

Santero’s sophomore release, El Hijo de Obatala garnered critical acclaim, featured on NPR’s All Things Considered & Latino USA. Santero’s El Hijo De Obatala made several critic’s top 10 lists for best album of 2009 in the Village Voice, SF Weekly & other publications. Santero also won a 2009 SF Weekly Music Award for Best International Artist. In addition, he has released numerous singles and remixes in recent years. 

Santero has shared stages with world renowned artists ranging from Femi Kuti, Damien Marley & Magic System to Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco & Janelle Monae. When he is not producing events in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New Orleans, Santero works at Gracenote, A Nielsen Company as the Senior Music Content Editor for Latin America. Santero currently lives in New Orleans.
