“Music to bring pain relief and, mostly, joy” – Nick Spitzer
Dr. Ira “Ike” Padnos has been an anesthesiologist with LSU School of Medicine for in 1995, first at Charity Hospital and now University Medical Center. In addition to working a full rotational and on-call schedule, he combined his passion, knowledge and love of music into The Ponderosa Stomp Festival and Foundation. The “Stomp” was born out of Padnos wedding in 2002, where he booked 16 acts to liven up the traditional reception and ended up watching record collection brought to life. Through 13 festivals, countless other show bookings, and 28 years of clinical practice, Dr. Ike has treated patients in venues and musicians everywhere in between.
