Antonio “KC” Kearney was born in Kansas City Missouri. From birth, KC has always had a rhythmic tune in his heart. As a child, KC expressed himself through his music, and knew that he would one day make his mark in the music industry.
KC left Kansas City shortly after graduating high school to attend Alabama State University. While there, KC made frequent visits to Atlanta. During his Atlanta visits, he got the opportunity to work with artists including; Kanye West artist Really Doe, and head producer for Grand Hustle, Kevin “Khao” Cates. Cates later gave KC the opportunity to produce records for Grand Hustle, while also observing the making of King.
In 2007, KC was introduced to producer Daruis “Deezle” Harrison. Deezle was an Engineer for Lil Wayne who lived in New Orleans. Shortly after meeting Deezle, KC made the decision to move to New Orleans to pursue music full time. Being a struggling artist forced KC to live out of the studio he worked in. Shortly after his move, the studio closed, and KC’s once studio home became non-existent, forcing KC to live out of his car for months. Determined to make his dream a reality, he worked three jobs in hopes of becoming a survivor of this tough time. Deezle later notified KC that he was working on Lil’ Wayne’s album Tha Carter 3. KC and Deezle began to work on music for the album that included the track Action, which was set to be the first single off The Carter 3. Though Action was replaced by the single Lollipop, the song still made the album.
Along with Lil’ Wayne, KC has worked with various artists including but not limited to; Ludacris, Drake, Gucci Mane, Bun B, Mannie Fresh, Mos Def, Curren$y, Rocko, Mystikal, Dorrough, Tum Tum, Rantz Davis and Dee-1. KC has also opened a new top of the line studio, landed two placement commercial spots with KFC, and an e-commercial with Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack. KC is currently in talks on scoring movies with movie director Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titians, Transporter 1 & 2).
KC has been producing songs in the midst of many greats for over thirteen years, earning him the right to call himself a veteran in the music industry. KC has an amazing passion and love for all music and believes that his vision and creativity enhances tracks for artists. He works closely with many artists offering advice and mentorships in the New Orleans area. KC has delivered quality to each artist he has worked with, along with empowering them with knowledge and understanding to overcome all adversities. KC will continue to inspire artists, fellow producers, and industry leaders along the way and will continue to make the next greatest hit.
